WORK SAMPLES
I selected these work samples to display the abilities I have honed over my years of experience: creativity, technology skills, adaptability, organization, and propensity for facilitating collaboration and meaningful interactions between participants.
Signage to accompany meteorite display at El Paso International Airport (2022)
These graphics were originally designed to be installed inside a display case featuring a meteorite.
I created four different layouts/themes and my colleagues provided feedback.
The design was ultimately tweaked to be shown on a screen behind the meteor.
Capstone Project Poster Draft (2021)
The final assignment for an action research course was to design a poster for my capstone project.
This poster reflected data on a set of research questions.
Grade received: A
Google Sites Professional Development (2021)
A program coordinator at the local education service center attended several of my virtual professional development sessions. He was impressed with my use of Google Sites and contracted me to develop a PD focusing on that.
I used a Google Site to share resources and model effective usage. Evident in the site is how I incorporate collaboration, movement, and quick assessment techniques into a training session.

Final Project for a Graduate-Level Biomimicry Class (2021)
The course consisted of learning about the design practice called biomimicry and deciphering many, many research papers.
The final assignment was to use the biomimicry mindset to solve a personal problem.
Grade received: A
Pop-Up Activity Guides (2021-2022)
These modules were developed after interviews with geology scientists as part of their group's education and outreach efforts.
I was determined to have participants experience the "nature of science" just like actual researchers.
This is one of three modules developed and shared with the network, these modules were also referenced by a collaborator in Idaho.
These modules were written into 2-hour, standards-aligned, lesson plans at the 3-5, middle school, and high-school level.

Online Engagement (2020-2021)
These are examples of how I engaged my scholarship students during online meetings and trainings.
They needed opportunities to express themselves, reflect on their learning, and talk/collaborate with their cohort.
I adapted methods I typically used in-person to work online and modeled the practices for the students to take back to their own classrooms.
Teaching of the Future (2020)
After an incredibly hectic year, the scholarship program hosted an online dinner to celebrate the graduates, "feeding" everyone virtually through Grubhub gift cards.
Attendees needed light and fun ways to interact with each other, most of whom had never met in person.
An open-ended prompt allowed them to chat, be creative, and make connections.
